Form with a Gridview is very slow when used in the AddIN compared to within an Application

I use the same form from a shared Project within an application and the AddIn
Both function properly but the speed difference is very noticeable

Within the Application and the Gridview has over 5000 rows it takes under a second to filter the rows
Within the Addin called the same way and when the row filter happens it takes almost 10 seconds

What would I need to look at that may be causing the issue?

I have a text box that can be typed into and it applies a filter to the gridview
From a standard vb.net application, this is quick compared to when the same form is used within the AddIn

It's an Office 365 not installed from the Store.
I am going through the code to ensure it isn't something I have done to slow it down just to be sure

At https://insider.office.com/en-us/releasenotes/pc/fast, I've found the following fix:

?Â?Ð?? We fixed an issue that was causing delays when users were programmatically editing a large range of cells.
