Spaces in plugin name

Hi team,

how can I change the behaviour, that the plugin name in outlook uses underscores instead of spaces? So it looks a little bit unprofessional. Thx.

Hello Thorsten,

What do I do to reproduce the issue?

I've changed the AddinName property of the add-in module from "MyAddin91" to "My Addin 91". Now I see the new name in the list of add-ins at File | Options | Add-ins (in the Name column) and also in the COM Add-ins dialog box.

Hello Thorsten,

In the Initializecomponent() method (it's called from the constructor of the add-in module), there's a code line that sets the AddinName property. Does it contain underscores? If not, what exact Office build are you using?

Hi Andrei,

that was the problem. My Initializecomponent shows "Me.AddinName = "netyard_Essentials_Outlook_Plugin"
I think, that this name ist set, when you create teh project. At first my project was named as "netyard.Essentials.Outllok.Plugin" so your component has translated it to "netyard_Essentials_Outlook_Plugin". Later I've changed the project name but this action did not change the addinname.

Thx. Solved.
