Hello,
we are using a vdproj and the setup created by adxpublisher.exe to deploy our excel add-in. If we publish a newer version of the addin, we do not want to deinstall the previous version we want to overwrite the existing version. Is this possible?
I was playing around with the setup properties: ProductKey, RemovePreviousVersions, DetectedNewerInstalledVersion and ProductCode.
I manage to install multiple version which are listed in windows section of installed programs. (Add / Remove programs) But each version is shown there. What I want is to overwrite the exiting installation without.
best regards,

Hello Dirk,
Visual Studio Installer doesn't allow doing this.
I suppose that you look for a way to leave some file(s) or registry key(s) intact after the add-in is uninstalled. If so, use the Permananent property when in the file System Editor and the DeleteAtUninstall property when in the Registry Editor.
