Thanks anyway Andrei. I'll let you know if I find anything worth passing on.

One other question. If I want to make the AddinModule's OutlookApp property available to other module and libraries is there a recommended way to do this.

Here's the path:

{project such as MyAddin1}.AddinModule.CurrentInstance.OutlookApp

Just for the record I got to the bottom of this behaviour. In the Explorer.FolderSwitch event handler I had a lot of code to do with tracking the licences of users who were using my add-in to work with the shared calendars of other users. There were a lot of references to various classes and an overdose of instances of CurrentFolder. No errors occurred but I think in some way one instance was blocking another. I refactored the code making sure that the different elements at work referenced the same instance of Explorer.CurrentFolder and things started to work properly.
