Hi,

I am using Visual Studio 2017 on windows 10. In the Signing Options screen I picked a pfx code signing certificate file that we just purchased to be able to sign the clickonce deployment.

I am getting an error that says "Only certificates using CSP storage provider are supported"

I ma not really sure what this means. There is this article https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/client-management/mdm/storage-csp that says it is depreciated on windows 10. But I am not sure if it is the same thing.

Or is this not the place to sign the clickonce build?

I also tried in the publish page to choose that certificate and publish using it and it gives me a similar error when i click publish: "Invalid provider type specified"

Did we get the wrong type cert?

thanks,
Rob

Hello Rob,

Try to convert your certificate to a CSP compatible certificate; see https://remyblok.tweakblogs.net/blog/11803/converting-certificate-to-use-csp-storage-provider-in-stead-of-cng-storage-provider.
