Hi, I'm using Visual Studio Enterprise 2017, I'm also using Windows 10, and Add-in express 8.7.4430. Windows is up to date.

It seems that when I deployed the most recent version, it does no longer automatically define an entry point in the manifest file.

After looking into it, I'm not sure what I'd need to change in the project so that the publish function correctly defines the entry point.

Could you be of some help here?

Hello Øystein,

Hmm, I don't understand. Manifest file? is it adxloader.dll.manifest? Entry point? How can I reproduce the issue?

The [projectName].exe.manifest. Inside the Publish/[version] folder.

+ Exception reading manifest from [uploadLocation].exe.manifest: the manifest may not be valid or the file could not be opened.
+ Application manifest is not semantically valid.
+ Specified <entryPoint> is not valid. Check that the path to the entrypoint is well-formed and the entrypoint exists in the deployment.

I've compared the manifest file with previous manifest files, and find that the bit that looks to be missing is:

<entryPoint>
<assemblyIdentity name="adxlauncher" version="8.7.4430.0" publicKeyToken="4416DD98F0861965" language="neutral" processorArchitecture="x86" />
<commandLine file="adxlauncher.exe" parameters="" />
</entryPoint>

I'm not sure how to replicate it, as I've undone project changes with no luck.

Hello Øystein,

This occurs if Add-in Express can't find its installation folder. Do you use Add-in Express under the account that you use to install it?

I was doing that, as far as I could find out.

But after removing and installing Add-in express again, the process worked as usual.

Thanks a lot for the help. Have a nice weekend.
