Hi,

I noticed this fix in the newest release:"Application.Session Outlook COM object was not released in the Add-in Express core code".

Was this fixed in 8.7.4425 or actually 8.6.4408 in? What are the implications of this error (does it only forget to release when shutting down or is it a dangerous memory leak)?

The reason I am asking is because I believe "An illegal state change was requested error in adxloader.log when loading an add-in" was actually fixed in 8.6.4408. The reason these questions is that I prefer to not upgrade unless I really have to. The question might sound trivial but it is actually very important for me to know if I need to upgrade the ADX library (not using any Outlook regions things that seems to have many issues).

Hello,

According to our guys, this issue was found by a customer. The demo project showed that this COM object wasn't released when switching between folders. Still, this issue didn't produce any visible side effect; speaking generally, an unreleased Outlook.Session object has never showed any issue. In build 8.7, we've released it to be on the safe side.

Basically, you are correct: this issue was fixed in 8.6. But we have declared it fixed only in 8.7, after we've come to conclusion that it is really fixed; this took a while.

On Outlook regions seemingly having issues. Although issues are part of our life, I don't have this impression when talking about Regions. What issues do you mean? Anything specific? Maybe, you have an issue that we should have fixed?

Thanks. Will wait with upgrade to 8.7 then for a while I think since no serious side effects. I only use .NET 4.0+ so no problem with that possible loader.

I do not use Regions at all. It is just that I see many updates or fixes related to Regions in your releases.
