We have an outlook add-in that a client is trying to install per machine in a citrix environment. When the user installs on a machine, as administrator, it works fine. Then when they log in as a user on that machine as a user, the add-in is disabled. And the add-in cannot be activated.

The client wants to know what records updates should be in the registry when logged in as the normal user.

They could not find adxRegistrator.log.

Hello Chris,

Make sure adxregistrator.exe actions in your setup project do allow creating a log file. Ask them to reinstall the add-in and look for adxregistrator.log in the default location, which is {user profile}\Documents\Add-in Express\adxregistrator.log or in the location that the corresponding adxregistrator.exe action specifies.

In the log file, check the parameters passed to adxregistrator.exe: for a per-machine add-in one of them must be /administrator. You may need to check if your add-in follows the steps outlined in section Deploying a per-machine Office extension via an MSI installer, see the PDF file in the folder {Add-in Express}\Docs on your development PC.

Just FYI. We are going to change the default location for Add-in Express log files in the next Add-in Express build (no ETA is available yet); the files will be located in the Temp folder.
