Hello Mukesh,

I don't know if it is possible to use this approach with a non Add-in Express project.

With an Add-in Express based project, this doesn't depend on the host application. You need to add and remove an XLL Add-in Module.

Hi Andrei Smolin,

Thanks for your reply, can you please give your response on other query:

And I am seeing we have following XLL module in Add-in-express as below and seems like both are related with Excel Add-in, do you think this will workable with Outlook Add-in and which one I have to add and then remove:

1. XLL Add-in Module
2. XLL Add-in Additional Module [I]

Thanks,
Mukesh Kumar

Hello Mukesh,

This is what I wrote in my previous post:

BTW, you could try doing this on a new empty project.

Hi Andrei Smolin,

That's true we can add "XLL Module" in Add-in-express base project, but on other solutions (our one), I am getting popup as "It is not allowable to add this item to a non Add-in Express based project.", so can you please explain if we can do the relevant changes manually; for example in adxloader.dll.manifest file adding element as xllClass="MyAddin1.XLLModule1":

<assemblyIdentity name="MyAddin1, PublicKeyToken=5f9209e06017aa54" imageRuntimeVersion="v2.0.50727" xllClass="MyAddin1.XLLModule1" />

Or please suggest how we can achieve this in non Add-in Express project.

Thanks,
Mukesh Kumar

Hello Mukesh,

I can't help you with a non Add-in Express based project; we don't provide support for such projects.

The assemblyIdentity element specifies the assembly to be loaded by the loader.
