Is it possible to update an Add-In before it loads, so the Host Application does not need to be closed? How does the VSTO Loader accomplish this? With VSTO based add-in, the Add-In updates when the Host Application opens, but doesn't require restarting the HOST Application.

I am looking to reproduce the user experience for VSTO deployment of an Add-IN with our Add-In Express Add-in.

Does setting the ShadowCopy to TRUE in the Manifest allow for updating / registering the Add-in without closing EXCEL?
