Hello,
Is there a way to know when a document has been closed without saving?
If the save prompt appears and the user presses save, we get before/after save events.
However, if the popup appears and user presses "Don't save", or no popup appears, we have no idea what's going on

Any idea on this matter?

Hello Igor,

The object models of these applications don't provide a direct way.

I would intercept the CommandBarsUpdate event as well as all events relating to saving/closing the document/workbook/presentation and study the sequence of events in different scenario.
