Hi Leonid,

The vdproj may not contain the actual information about all detected dependencies if you convert it in VS2013 (e.g. some file paths can be empty). So I would recommend you to build the solution in VS2010 and then convert it.

Hello Sergey,
I understand your reasons. However, we experience some problems with opening a solution in VS2010. As well, you are selling the converter as a solution that supports VS2013. If we were working with VS2010 then we would not need purchasing your product. I do not have converter installation to be configured to work with VS2010. I will re-run the installer and update the configuration to ensure that it picks up detected dependencies.

Regards,
Leonid

Hi Leonid,

Of course, you can use Visual Studio 2013 for converting your existing setup project. But please use VS 2010 to prepare your setup project for conversion - make sure it is valid, up to date and contains all necessary assemblies.

Hello,
Sorry for the long silenced delay. The matter is that we work with dynamically changing projects and we do not want to manage a static list of files in WIX projects, but use harvesting tool for populating deployed files.
I understand that for this goal we cannot use output of the converter since it operates only with what it collected from vdproj at the time of the conversion and makes use of 'project' target when harvesting the project output. We will work on creating WIX project from scratch for our goal.

Thank you,
Leonid
