Is there any way to create a new window to show the user some information without the new window stealing focus from the active window, particularly if it is an inspector.

Do you mean creating a pane within an inspector? Or is it possible to show a completely independent window?

Andrew,

I meant a pane within the inspector window. To create a separate window that doesn't capture the focus requires research. I believe you can create such a window using Windows API.
