Having purchased Add-In Express for VCL yesterday, I'm now trying to install it, but the installer simply raises an access violation and terminates.

The installer is adxvcl-v700-b1209-pro.exe (7.0.0.1209). I've downloaded it twice, and tried it on three different computers, always with the same problem. I am an administrator on these machines. I've tried adjusting the Data Execution Prevention flag and rebooting, with no effect.

I've previously installed Outlook Security Manager 2010 (purchased earlier in the year) on my main machine, and so I've tried temporarily removing the registry key for that, as suggested on page 12 of adxvcl7.pdf.

The access violation address is 03880000 on one machine, 03770000 on another, and 03820000 on a third.

On my main machine, I'm running XP SP3, Delphi XE 15.0.3953.35171 with Upd ate Pack 1, and Outlook 2003 (11.8325.8324) SP3. Everything is 32-bit.

The Task Manager shows two processes: adxvcl-v700-b1209-pro.exe and adxvcl-v700-b1209-pro.tmp. The .tmp process keeps the CPU very busy for five or six seconds, and then the access violation occurs. (It actually occurs twice in a row, or at least it's reported twice.)

(A couple of temporary folders get created in Local Se ttings\Temp (one of them contains the .tmp executable), and these get deleted again when the installer terminates. This is probably normal.)

I'd be very grateful for any suggestions!

We received an almost identical bug report and we've started working on this issue. We expect to have something to test later today. Can we ask you to do this on your PC?

Thank you for good news. We are still trying to find the explanation of this strange "Access violation" exception. I hope we will find the cause and publish a fixed build next week.
